Roughly around 1,200 pairs of Gannets fly across the Tasman Sea to nest in New Zealand from August to March
After many stormy days we were lucky enough to have a couple of days of blue skies! We seized this chance to get outside with our cameras and captured the amazing Gannets flying and nesting with their partners.
Each year the Gannets nest in New Zealand with their nest just centimetres from one another. As they soar overhead you feel as though you have to duck but they seem to know what they are doing as they land smoothly at their nests. These massive birds can weigh up to 2.5kgs and have a wingspan of two metres! To say we were amazed with these birds would be an understatement
