Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia and is home to the massive 451m tall Petronas Twin Towers but head two hours out of the city and you are greeted with the Cameron Highlands. Our next stop was Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Malaysia’s Sabah state in the northern part of the island of Borneo.
Living the big city life
While in Kuala Lumpur we made our way through the chinatown market and many malls, we even managed to head to a water park! After all the hustle and bustle of the city we escape for one day up into the beautiful Cameron Highlands, visiting tea plantations and strawberry farms. After our time in KL we flew to KK, Kota Kinabalu, where we explored the small township and ventured to islands off the coast for some snorkelling.
